My Journey Into This Work
I became a counsellor through my own journey, after experiencing how transformative therapy can be.
Over the years, I’ve experienced first-hand what it means to lose your way, to rebuild, and to gradually become more aligned with who you truly are.
Recovery, for me, has been less about “fixing” and more about becoming whole. It’s been about integrating parts of myself that once felt lost and fragmented.
This inner work is not separate from my professional life; it is part of it. It reminds me that transformation, although it can sometimes feel elusive, is still very much possible.
Professional Experience
Alongside this personal journey, I have delivered counselling within NHS Talking Therapies, supporting people experiencing anxiety, depression, and a wide range of life challenges, from loss and addiction to relationship difficulties and questions of identity and purpose.
Before qualifying as a counsellor, I spent over 20 years supporting people affected by addiction and mental health challenges across a range of different settings.
Again and again, I’ve witnessed that even in the most tragic and difficult times, something within us seeks movement towards healing and freedom.
How I work
Both my professional work and my wider life experience have shaped the way I practise. I’m comfortable working with complexity, uncertainty, and the parts of life that can feel difficult to put into words.
My approach is integrative, which means I draw on different therapeutic models depending on what works best for you — because we are all wonderfully unique.
Together, we create a safe, thoughtful space to explore what your experiences may be pointing us towards, making sense of what has brought you to therapy and finding new ways to navigate it.
This work is about exploration, understanding, meaning, and moving towards a life that feels more aligned with your true self.
